Marrakech Menara airport is an international facility that serves European, the Middle Eastern and African with direct and connected flights to the destinations all over the globe. Marrakech airport departures most commonly choose one of the regular and low-cost flights to London-Gatwick, Brussels, Paris-Charles de Caulle, Geneva, Berlin-Tegel, Toulouse and Barcelona.
Marrakech airport has two terminals so far and the third is currently being built. Terminals 1 and 2 cover a space of 42,000 m2 and have the capacity to hold 4,5 million visitors a year. Aircraft’s parking space is 125,000 m2 Runways are 3,100 meters long and 45 metes wide.
Before going through customs at Marrakech airport departures, exchange your Dirhams at a bank in the terminal because once passing through the security gate you will not be able to do that. What is more, the duty free shops accept only Euros or payments from a credit card. There are only few outlets that might accept Dirhams, otherwise, you can either keep your money (up to 1,000 Dirhams) or donate them to one of the charity collection boxes at Marrakech airport departures.
You will need to fill in an embarkation card prior to arriving at passport control. It is the same form you complete when arriving at Marrakech airport. The cards are displayed close to the passport control door and the Marrakech airport departure lounge in the check-in area. It is recommended to arrive at the airport with a bigger margin of time as it sometimes takes longer to go through customs and security.
